The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Dr. Jayma Claus, DDS, MAGD

  Jayma Claus was born and raised in Southern California.  Jayma  attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and took the school motto “learn by doing” which fed her quest for knowledge and her sense of humor. She learned not only about her major but took courses in psychology, metal smithing, welding and how to drive a back ho.  She was active in many clubs and met her husband,  Steve, while obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  After returning  to Southern California,  Jayma worked for her father at his dental office. She realized how important dentistry was for health and that a healthy and beautiful smile contribute to the quality of a person’s life.  Attending University of Southern California Dental School, Jayma graduated in the top of her class and continues her commitment offering the best for her patients and has continued her education and achieved  her Fellowship and Masters from the Academy of General Dentistry. She dedicated herself to continue in her fathers  footsteps, providing excellent dentistry to restore health and beauty of the mouth .... by doing so…bringing out the best in her patients.  Jayma continues to train in implants, complex restorative care, Cerec and laser technology.  Jayma , her husband and children, Peter and Sarah relocated to Napa in 1997.  Jayma and her family enjoy Tennis, Scuba diving, Snow skiing, spending time with friends and cooking.  She volunteers with many environmental activities and believes in supporting the local community; and can be found walking her dogs at the various parks.

Trish Tucker, RDA

Trish was born and raised right here in Napa, California.  She has two daughters, Leilani and Summer.  Together they love to go to the beach, swim, hike, camp, and cook. Trish went to dental assisting school in 2004, and has been enjoying assisting ever since. She has been with Dr. Claus since 2007, and has become pivotal in assisting the doctor throughout the clinical treatment process and in seeing to the comfort needs of our patients.

Kathy Kostka, RDH

Kathy was born and raised in Napa.  She is married to her husband Joe.  They have one daughter Jennifer, Hannah the dog and 2 cats Frisky and Kiki. Kathy worked for many years as a dental assistant before attending dental hygiene school.  She graduated from Diablo Valley College in 2000 and has enjoyed working with Dr. Claus ever since.  She has learned so much from Dr. Claus and strives to learn more through continuing education courses. Kathy loves her job and the team she works with.  In her spare time Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include eating, working off those calories at the gym, hiking, going to baseball games to cheer on the Oakland A’s and curling up on the couch with her husband eating popcorn and watching a good movie.

Ivy Zellmer, RDH

Ivy graduated with an Associates of Science degree in Dental Hygiene with Honors from Santa Rosa Junior College. She was president of her class and her passion for hygiene extends to her patients. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and also serves on the board of the local hygiene society. She is married and enjoys cooking and traveling with her husband in her free time.

Becky Mehlum, Patient Coordinator

Becky was born and raised in Vallejo, California. Growing up, Becky was junior bowler. She met her husband, John at Kentwig Bowling Lanes in Vallejo.  They have two sons, J.R. who also loves to bowls, loves the RED SOX and baseball, and Kurtis who just loves to smile and show off his new teeth!  Becky went to school for dental assisting in 1997 and has been in the dental field ever since  She cannot see herself doing anything else but  making it easier for her patients to come in and receive the care that they need. In her spare time you can see Becky at the baseball fields, either the pro fields or the little league fields.  You might even see her at the bowling alley here in Napa.  Becky also enjoys traveling the country and BBQ’ing with her family and friends.
